A overview on momentum

Have you ever been to a football match or ever played a football match? I guess you might have, so let’s begin with taking a very simple example of a football match. You might have noticed that while playing a match we use to that the winning team or the team having more score is in momentum or would say that the team might win the match as they have good momentum. This same funda is applied to objects because objects also depend upon the mass of the object and velocity of the object, when the mass and velocity of the object is more then the momentum will be more respectively. I guess by now it would be clear to you all that momentum is the product of mass and velocity of the object. Momentum is denoted by “p”. Dimensions are [MLT^-1]. The units are (kg.m/s).

Let’s now discuss what can momentum be negative. So we know that momentum is the product of the mass and velocity of the object. Let’s assume that the velocity of the object is negative (as we know the mass can’t be negative) then the momentum automatically becomes negative.
